If you need any quick Rice Dish to take for office or pack in kids lunch box then this is the answer..It is a simple yet very flavourful pulav..I served it with Cucumber and Soya Chunks Korma..Will Post that soon in YUMMY TUMMY..Hope you like this and tell me how it cameout.. Ingrediants:
Basmati Rice – 2 cups (soaked)
Onion -1 sliced
Tomato – 1 chopped
Beans – 2 cups cut into inch pieces
Chilli powder -1 tsp
Coriander Powder / Malli podi -1 tblspn
Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi -1 tsp
Garam Masala Powder -2 tsp
Fennel Seeds / Saunf / Sombu -1 tsp
Cinnamon / Pattai -1 small stick
Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam -1 tsp
Oil-1 tblspn
Ghee – 1 tblspn
Coriander Leaves / Cilantro –for garnishing
Salt to taste
Water – 4 cups
Method:
Wash and soak rice for 30 mins. Drain it and set aside.
Heat oil and ghee in a pressure cooker. Add cumin, fennel, cinnamon and fry for 30 sec.
Add in onions and mix well.Add in tomatoes and mix well..Cook for 5 mins.
Add in turmeric, chilli, coriander and garam masala powder and mix well.
Add in beans and mix well. Cook for 5 mins so that the raw smell goes from that.
Now add in drained rice and mix well.. Pour 4 cups of water and season with salt.
Bring this to boil and cover and cook for 2 whistles and simmer for 10 mins.
Let the pressure go by itself.. Open it up and drizzle 1 tsp of ghee over top and garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve hot with raita..
