Keerai Masiyal – Healthy Sidedish for Rice


This is what amma made for us when we are kids..She used to make this atleast 2 times a week. A really really tasty dish which is extremely healthy too..Hope you like it..


Keerai Masiyal Recipe

Ingrediants:

Spinach (any variety ) – 1 bunch
Shallots / Sambar Onion - 3
Garlic – 5 cloves
Ghee – 1 tblspn
Salt to taste

Method:

Wash the spinach well and chop into small pieces. Take it in a pan and add about a cup of water.

Add in salt, garlic, onion  and cook for 5 mins untill the spinach is cooked and completely wilted.

Now cool this down and take it in a blender and make into a fine puree.

Transfer to a bowl. Heat some ghee and pour over the top.

Serve this with hot rice..

Pala Roast / Nendrapalam Roast – Quick Snack for Kids


If your kids are in a top most hunger then this once comes handy..It is a quick roast made with ripe banana…This is my favorite one..Hope you like it and let me know what you think..


Nendrapalam Roast Recipe

Ingrediants:

Nendrapalam / Ripe Banana – 2 large sliced into thick rounds
Sugar – 4 tblspn or as needed
Ghee – 2 tblspn
Honey – to drizzle on top

Method:

Heat ghee in a pan on high heat..Add the banana and toss well so that it gets coated in the ghee..

Add the sugar and toss well..Fry this on high heat so that the sugar gets caramelized and coats each banana pieces..

Once it is golden remove to a bowl.

 Drizzle over some honey and serve.

Quick Pachamirtham – Karthigai Deepam Recipes


We made this for karthigai..It is so simple and suites well for any festivals…Hope you like it..


Quick Pachamirtham Recipe

Ingrediants:

Ripe Banana- 5 sliced
Coconut – ½ cup
Jaggery – ½ cup grated
Ghee – 2 tblspn

Method:

Mix everything together untill well combined.

Serve immediately.
